Ellis Island is the island of immigrants. It is the place where immigrants went when they first came to America.Ellis Island is a place where immigrants found out where there home is,what to do with their money.Ellis Island is the place to go if you are an immigrant and need help.
What is Ellis Island?
Ellis Island is a place where immigrants first go to enter America.Ellis Island is a place where immigrants can find what to do.Like getting your security code or getting american money. It’s a place where anybody can go for help! Like if you don’t know where to go or if you need to find the food banks. Ellis Island closed in 1954 and is now only there to serve as a museum today.
What does Ellis Island do?
Ellis Island does if you have a criminal record you can not come into the United States.Ellis Island inspects you and your stuff like if they inspect you, they inspect your health. If they inspect your stuff they inspect your bags, your papers ,and inspect your cloths.Ellis Island also lets you in America if you have passed the inspection test.
How many people entered Ellis Island?
From 1892 to 1954, more than twelve million immigrants entered the United States through the portal of Ellis Island.
If Ellis Island hadn't been there, where would immigrants go? (Our perspective)
If Ellis Island wasn’t there i would feel really bad because where would they go?Where would they find out where to find a house? It’s a place where immigrants first went when they needed help. But sadly it closed so I hope that many people think that it was very helpful back then.
If Ellis island was not there immigrants would be able to come to the United States for free and the immigrants can come in for free and guards will have to protect it because there will be too many immigrants that’s why.Sadly it closed in 1954 and it is now a serving museum
In my perspective I think that if Ellis Island wasn’t there immigrants/refugees would be deported because the immigrants/refugees they wouldn’t have a chance to enter like the American people wouldn’t let them show their papers or their health.( AKA it would be bad) But sadly it closed around the mid 1950s and now it is serving as a museum.
The summary of All The Way to America is that a family that works hard but is still poor so one of the family members named Micheal moves to America after his dad gave him a shovel and said don’t forget about family. So, when he went to America he go a better job and soon fell in love with a woman named Adeline and had 5 children. Then he made his own business and his son Dan worked for Micheal with the shovel. So when Dan grew up he fell in love with a woman named Helen and had 1 kid named Mike.So he started his own business and invited his family to talk, laugh, and eat. Then when Mike grows up he falls in love to a woman named Elaine and has 1 child plus Mike opens a barbershop.
I recommend this book because it talks about the generations of families that started from just one person that felt like he would get more opportunities .
My connection is with my parents because they moved to the US for a better opportunity.
Pancho wants to help find his dad. What does he do? He goes on an amazing journey with a coyote, will he get eaten? Find out by reading this book.
I recommend this book because it’s fun, uses fun characters, and it’s a migrant’s tale. This story connects with me because once my dad told me he would be right back but he didn’t come back so I had to go and find him and there he was, watching TV!
Hello my name is Joshua Manio. I will be talking about the problems immigrants and refugees face coming here to the U.S. One of these problems is finding a life for their family like providing for them. Lets first discuss the difference between a refugee and an immigrant. The difference is that a refugee is escaping any trouble that is happening in their country but an immigrant who just left their country to live in another country. Immigrants like have Visas and their papers but refugees don’t have time to gather this stuff because of how much danger their love ones and them are in.Okay now that I’ve explained what the difference is, let’s talk about what happens to them in the U.S. Now that they arrived in the U.S. the immigrants go through a trial to see if they get deported or not, but for the refugees, they can get deported at any second but a miracle can happen where the government lets them stay and live a normal life following the rules or get to live here or they can live a life that is like the lives in jail. They don’t get any jobs and have a hard time finding a home for their family to live in. Without the payments, their children will have no future unless they did in school.
